Highlights from the 5th P2GreeN Consortium Meeting – Berlin, Germany

📅 14–16 May 2025

We were thrilled to gather once again with our consortium partners for the 5th P2GreeN Consortium Meeting (COM)—three inspiring days of collaboration, learning, and hands-on exploration in and around Berlin. The event reinforced our shared mission to revolutionise urban-rural nutrient cycles through innovative and circular approaches.

🟢 Day 1 – Eberswalde & Müncheberg

Our journey began in Eberswalde with a visit to Kreiswerke Barnim GmbH, where we gained insights into their operational model and their pioneering collaboration with VunaNexus AG. Together, they are developing “Aurin”, a fertiliser made from human excreta—an impressive example of resource recovery in action.

In the afternoon, we moved to Müncheberg, where partners engaged in dynamic discussions around business model development and charted the course for the next project milestones.

🟢 Day 2 – Müncheberg

The second day focused on critical conversations around certification processes, regulatory frameworks, and policy trade-offs. A parallel stakeholder workshop, hosted by Copenhagen Business School, fostered dialogue with local actors from the pilot region.

We also had the opportunity to visit the premises of agrathaer GmbH, where we explored their innovative practices and approach. The day wrapped up with the 3rd Exploitation Workshop led by CIP Citizens In Power, sparking valuable exchanges on project impact and future scalability.

🟢 Day 3 – Hanstedt

On the final day, we traveled to Vagtshoff, where Goldeimer welcomed us to their composting facility. There, we learned about their hands-on work in sustainable waste management and nutrient recycling—closing the loop on circular sanitation.

🙏 A special thank you to agrathaer GmbH for their exceptional organisation and warm hospitality throughout the event. The momentum from this meeting leaves us energised and even more committed to driving sustainable change together.

Stay tuned as we continue this vital work toward a greener, more circular future!
