The European Commission has launched its second call for EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors – an initiative designed to empower young leaders to inspire and engage communities on the sustainable circular bioeconomy.
What Does It Mean to Be an EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassador?
As a Youth Ambassador, you will have the unique opportunity to advocate for bioeconomy values, connect with local communities, collaborate with peers across the EU, and represent youth voices in dialogue with decision-makers. This two-year role will involve participating in key events, educational workshops, and collaborative camps, all while raising awareness about the benefits and potential of bioeconomy through various media platforms.
Ambassadors will:
- Support the European Commission in promoting bioeconomy awareness, particularly among youth communities.
- Engage in policy dialogues and contribute to youth-centered initiatives.
- Participate in educational workshops, physical camps, and select events (with travel and accommodation covered).
- Receive communication training, mentoring, and networking support from the European Commission and fellow Ambassadors.
Who Can Apply?
To apply, candidates must:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old and a resident of an EU member state.
- Have a background or strong interest in bioeconomy-related fields such as biotechnology, food systems, forestry, rural development, and more.
- Be a proactive communicator, fluent in English, and comfortable with public engagement through social media, blogs, videos, or articles.
- Commit time to Ambassador activities and events organized by the European Commission.
